Galiano Island is one of BC’s beautiful southern gulf islands. Located between Vancouver Island and the mainland, you can travel by ferry in just one hour to this little paradise! The island is popular for its provincial parks, beautiful beaches, and unique sandstone cliffs and caves. Galiano also has the highest percentage of artists per capita in the whole province, so the island has an amazing arts scene. We spent our visit exploring the parks, enjoying the beaches, and relaxing in some of our favourite accommodations we’ve ever stayed in.

Our home province of BC is very LGBTQ+ friendly, and it’s one of the reasons why we love exploring locally so much. The gulf islands are wonderfully progressive and very welcoming to our community, and we felt incredibly safe and comfortable on Galiano. We felt right at home and can definitely recommend it to other same-sex couples and LGBTQ+ travellers. Add it to your BC travel list!

14 Photos to Make You Fall in Love with Cartagena

Cartagena was one of the best parts of our South America trip! The coastal city is popular because of its beautiful beaches and old walled city, and it did not disappoint. The city’s colonial architecture is stunning, and the historic old town is charming and picturesque. On top of all that, the views of the Caribbean Sea cannot be compared and truly make Cartagena an unforgettable destination! We spent our time exploring the walled city, searching for street art, enjoying the beautiful beaches, and checking out local cafes in town.

Colombia has some of the most progressive LGBTQ+ laws in South America, and we found Cartagena to be a safe and welcoming destination as a female same-sex couple. While the local LGBTQ+ scene is small and there isn’t much of a gaybourhood, the city is still a great lesbian friendly destination to consider. We highly recommend visiting and we’re sure you’ll fall in love with it the same way we did!

15 Photos to Convince You to Go to Panama

We were blown away by our trip to Panama and everything the country has to offer! We tried to explore as much as we could during our stay, and we came away with some truly unforgettable memories. We based ourselves in Panama City and took day trips to the Panama Canal, the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve, and the San Blas Islands. We ate local Panamanian food, snorkelled in the Caribbean, visited a sloth sanctuary, took an air tram through the rainforest, island hopped in the most remote location we’ve ever been, and watched boats pass through the famous Canal.

Panama still has work to do when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights for their citizens, but they do seem to be on the right path. We personally felt safe during our trip and never went out of our way to hide our relationship from locals. We can definitely recommend visiting! There is so much to discover and experience, and it is truly a unique destination. Our visit gave us some of our all time favourite travel memories.

California will always be one of our favourite US destinations. It’s LGBTQ+ friendly, incredibly diverse, and offers so much natural beauty. Rugged coastlines, quiet beaches, amazing national parks, and so much more, we can never get enough of our favourite state. We’ve been making an annual trip down to California to escape our Canadian winters, and every year we manage to discover something new. From big cities like San Francisco, LA, and San Diego, to unique regions like Big Sur and Joshua Tree National Park, we are never disappointed.

We’re always impressed by how lesbian friendly most California destinations are, and how many thriving gaybourhoods there are almost everywhere we go. We always feel safe and welcomed in a state that protects LGBTQ+ people by law, and has always been a leader in the equality movement. If you’re looking for an inclusive destination in the US, there are so many amazing places to discover in California. Whether you are looking for cosmopolitan city vibes, a laid back beach vacation, an adventure in the mountains or the desert, or a little bit of everything, you will find it here!
