Malcolm Island is a beautiful hidden gem in our home province of British Columbia. The Northern Gulf Island is in the Queen Charlotte Strait off the coast of Vancouver Island, and is truly a quiet little paradise. The secluded island destination is popular for whale watching, and there is so much incredible wild life and sea life to appreciate. We spent our visit hiking, exploring the small town of Sointula, and enjoying the beaches with stunning ocean views.
BC is incredibly LGBTQ+ friendly, even in the most remote corners of the province. We have always felt safe travelling in British Columbia as an open lesbian couple, and we love encouraging travellers to visit the province we call home! Malcolm Island is a warm and welcoming place with friendly locals, lovely business owners, and an inclusive, open-minded, culture. We felt right at home during our visit and cannot recommend it enough!
